Nuno No More

Portguese defender has had his contract with Plymouth Argyle cancelled. The 28-year-old was signed to a one-year deal by then manager Bobby Williamson in the summer but has since failed to make an impression on the club. He has recently been on trial with MLS side New York/New Jersey Metro Stars in attempt to secure a move State-side. Tony Pulis told the club website that Mendes "hadn't been close" to competing for a place in his improving line-up. "With no disrespect" the Welshman insisted, "It was time for him to move on, and time for us to move on".

The former Santa Clara and Strasbourg man made just three appearances in Pilgrims colours.

With the transfer window due to close tomorrow, it is still no clearer whether Tony Pulis will draught in any more players to Home Park, particularly in the striking department. With just two senior forwards at the club, Argyle certainly need to strengthen that area to ensure theuir stay away from the drop zone. There has been little comment from the club, who updated their official website for the first time in five days today. Rumour has it that Fulham are about to agree a deal with a Championship club for a player and what with the increased coverage of Argyle's in form stars, could another unwanted exit be on the cards?

Earlier this month, Chairman Paul Stapleton said that it wouldn't surprise him to see Rufus Brevett and Bjarni Gudjonsson also leave the club in the near future.
