West Ham United have agreed to let Elliott Ward continue his education with Argyle for at least another month. Tony Pulis has been in negotiations with his Hammers counterpart Alan Pardew over the last few days to secure the influential defender's services for a bit longer.

After making his debut 2 months ago, Ward has settled in the Pilgrims line-up and formed an effective partnership with Mat Kouo Doumbe at centre-half. "Elliott will be staying for another month", Pulis confirmed, describing it as a real "bonus for the football club".

The welshman also hinted at the possibility of keeping Ward for longer on this month-to-month basis.

The News Of The World has today reported Argyle's alleged interest in Cheltenham Town cup-hero Kayode Odejayi. The striker is one of many names being linked with a move to Home Park, after Scott Taylor's transfer to Milton Keynes last week. Bournemouth's James Hayter, who is attracting the interest of many Championship clubs, is also said to be a Plymouth target, likewise Southampton.  'Vital Football' claim that coach David Kemp has been watching lots of lower-league starlets in recent weeks. Swindon Town's Rory Fallon, Oxford United's Craig Davies and Colchester's Chris Iwelumo are the players mentioned.
