Wotton to leave?

Sadly, you only have to look further along the South Coast to see how funny football can be - the Harry Redknapp saga has highlighted how traditonial values count for very little in the modern game. So as a new week begins, Plymouth fans, still very much frustrated after the team dropped two points in the dying stages at Watford, will be greeted with speculation over the future of club-captain Paul Wotton.

Some Burnley fans claim that the Lancashire club are about to strike a deal to bring Wotton to Turf Moor. This post on the 'Clarets Mad' Messageboard has brought the story to light.

Very few teams are now led out by homegrown talents and it is a real privilege to see a player like Wotton, born and bred in the city, playing his football with Plymouth Argyle. Wottsy, celebrating his testimonial year, has seen the good times roll at Home Park and that extra connection and love-affair he has with the club has made our recent success even sweeter.

He may be critisised from time to time, but Wotton's commitment to this club is unquestionable and I certainly hope he stays. He is still a commanding presence in midfield, lethal when striking a ball and you bet your that he will be giving 110% to regain his form.
