Dear editor,

Hi there,

Firstly can I take this opportunity to thank you for takingthe time to read this email and consider what I have to say!

My plight is straight forward, I want to raise as much money for the British Lung Foundation as I possibly can and make people aware of mesothelioma.

Firstly can I take this opportunity to thank you for taking
the time to read this email and consider what I have to say!

My plight is straight forward, I want to raise as much money for the
British Lung Foundation as I possibly can and make people aware of
mesothelioma. The way I'm going to do this is by doing as many sponsored
events as possible.

So why a Breath of Life Fund, well in June 2005 I lost my dad to lung
cancer which came out of the blue and was a total shock to the whole
family. He died from mesothelioma! After a couple of months of waiting Dad
finally received his diagnosis, our worst nightmare became reality. He had
pleural mesothelioma, a terminal cancer of the lung caused by the
inhalation of asbestos dust. We found it inconceivable that the disease
was the result of Dad inhaling asbestos dust as a shipbuilder along the
Tyne and Wear and that it had lain dormant for forty-five years before
becoming lethal. Now shipbuilding was massive in our region as mining and
many other heavy industries and a lot are associated with asbestos! Now
this equals to the hard fact that this time bomb is now slowly exploding
across of the whole of the UK taking away our Mams, Dads, and Grandparents etc.

So I hear you saying what can we do?? Well that's the easy part!! If everyone pledged just £1 or whatever they want that would be fantastic. One person dies in the UK every five hours from mesothelioma, so please help!

Thank you again for your time and best wishes..Paul Wallace..
