MOVING FORWARD
In the right direction certainly, but i'm sure Argyle fans would rather that this read "Moving For Ward" - Elliott has been a real hit with the Green Army.

The on-loan Hammers defender is the subject of a midweek special on Argyle Mad after being confirmed as January's Player Of The Month last week, as voted for by fans. Here, we look into fans' concerns as to what the future might hold for both parties when this love-affair ends. Click here for the article, the Elliott Ward feature can be found below the final poll results.

Despite enjoying some good form under the stewardship of Tony Pulis, the more fickle fan at Home Park still finds time to critisise those not quite at their best. The club is privileged to have two local lads turning out every week in Mickey Evans and captain Paul Wotton, both of whom are certainly not youngsters. After 10 years with Argyle, Paul Wotton is still as essential to side as he was in the lower reaches of the Football League. Like Evans, he can surely be forgiven for not being the most technically-gifted player but no-one is entitled to question his commitment to Plymouth, both city and club.

It has since eased but while Akos Buzsaky was hogging Argyle's limelight, no supporter in sight was complaining as he dispatched some magnificent free-kicks, placed to perfection. So with this going, Paul Wotton wasn't exactly producing his best, occasionally lapsing on his defensive duties whilst failing to threaten the opponent's goal from range. It's amazing how the Green Army, considered as some of the best supporters in football by other clubs, can forget what Wotton has given to the Pilgrims. If it wasn't for the Wottons, the Evans' and the Hodges' of this world, it would be Bury and Boston making trips to Home Park this season and not the Blades. Hopefully, Wottsy feels full of confidence after silencing his doubters with four crucial goals in January. As long as the skipper keeps with the Pilgrims, to can guarantee that he will make up for the lack of technical ability with a 110% work rate and that all-mighty right foot that has made us what we are today.

WARNOCK
Like the documentary. Even his Plymouth days, Neil Warnock has always an outspoken character and, although he has a lot of time for the club, an issue arising over the signing of Lilian Nalis from Sheffield United last month. Warnock had claimed that he had made an informal agreement with Argyle that they would not field Nalis against the Blades, what with the Yorkshire outfit kindly releasing the Frenchman from his contract and allowing him to complete a move to Plymouth for no fee. This, however, has been denied by the Pilgrims with Tony Pulis claiming that he knew nothing of it. The Western Morning News, a local paper who Warnock writes for, have featured this controversy quite strongly after questionning him in person. Warnock said to be far from happy with his former employers and, considering how he normal deals with his adversaries, there will be a little spice added to the Home Park cauldron, with tie all set to simmer at 100˚C.

Earlier in the week, Warnock's words had been ones of caution, as he is wary of the threat that Plymouth possess. What with his own side not in the best of form, he will be hoping his players fight the Pilgrims and overcome the stubborn backline, that has conceded just 5 more goals than Warnock's 2nd-placed Sheffield United. All eyes will be on Nalis, if he does play, and new loan signing Vincent Pericard may also have something to say. The fellow-countrymen will both want to shine against the club whom for which they have played for this season.

TEAM NEWS
Should Nalis not play, Buzsaky and Bojan Djordjic could feature should they overcome their injuries - something that we report all too often. A recall for either of those two would probably see David Norris move into the centre with skipper Paul Wotton. Norris has been an integeral part in practically ever point the Greens have gained this season, and was heavily missed when Leeds came to town in January. It is probably no coincidence that Argyle went on to lose 3-0, a real outlier when analysing their current form. The other alternative in midfield is Lee Hodges, although he is likely to be short of match fitness.

Sheffield United don't just want to get back to winning ways, they want revenge for the 3-0 defeat in this fixture last season - whoever put a bet on that scoreline at the time will be a rich man now. Full-back Derek Geary is suspensed, as is veteran David Unsworth after his sending-off in the televised 4-1 defeat to Watford. Danny Webber, outrageously linked to Argyle this week on P@SOTI, will be absent with a hamstring injury. Warnock will have to choose between aged 30+ journeymen Brian Deane, Neil Shipperley and Bruce Dyer if either Steve Kabba or £1.75 million signing Ade Akinbyi are left out. Geoff Horsfield, another well-known forward, is said to be on his way to Brammall Lane as well.
