Blog! - Toothless Argyle...

My first thought after the game, well in fact during the game, was why did I bother to go?

I felt uncomfortable sitting in a cold and windy Home Park but more misery was to follow in Argyle's lacklustre performance.

In the opening 10 minutes, Pericard looked bright, as did a few other Argyle players. Then the game went flat for 15 minutes before it dawned on Cardiff players, the Greens weren't really up for the challenge. The Welsh team seized control and took the lead before half time with Argyle looking disinterested. I can hardly remember seeing Trigger win a ball in the air and if he did there were no players near him, as the Pilgrims did not commit themselves forward.

The 2nd half performance was an improvement with Argyle winning a string of corners, which gave the fans a lift and hope. As much of this season has shown though, Pulis' team have not been successful with set pieces.

Zebroski was brought on to a loud cheer as the fans clearly wanted to see him given his chance. Djordjic was also warmly welcomed into the game, as was Buzsaky. For me, it signalled to the gaffer the fans wanted to see players who could inject some creativity on the pitch. Buzsaky looked class for the few minutes of action he got; he was comfortable on the ball and started creating opportunities out of nothing.

At the end I just wish I hadn't gone. Am I the only one who has found watching the Pilgrims has become really dull?! Granted the boss has kept Argyle in the Championship this season but his style of football is boring the pants off me! I can see the attendances getting even lower next season regardless of the Grandstand coming down at some point.
