Argyle v Bristol City. Match preview

Doumbe is in line for a first-team return as on-loan Manchester United defender David Gray is ruled out by an ankle injury.

The club's other right back, David McNamee, is suspended and so Doumbe is set to get the nod.

On-loan Blackburn Rovers forward Paul Gallagher has been given the all-clear after a scan on his knee and comes back into contention along with Belgium international forward Emile Mpenza.

Bristol City boss Gary Johnson has a near full strength squad to choose from.

Jamie McCombe is the only definite absentee for the Robins, who have had a 10-day break since drawing 2-2 with league leaders Wolves at Ashton Gate earlier this month.

The defender is expected to return in mid-February after undergoing a successful operation on his stomach and pelvis last week.

Johnson insists the game at Home Park is the start of an important period for his side, he said: "The next five or six matches are vital to our season. We want to be competing in and around the play-offs and we need to put a run together to be able to do that.

"Having a largely fully fit squad is going to be important and we have used the break well in my opinion and the lads have trained well and look ready to go."
