Argyle v Burnley. Match preview

McNamee has not figured in the first-team since suffering a fractured cheekbone in the 1-1 draw at Preston on February 3.

However, he proved his fitness by playing 90 minutes for the reserves on Tuesday as they beat Bristol City 2-0.

Wales striker Jermaine Easter also staked his claim for a first-team place by grabbing the opening goal against the Robins.

Both McNamee and Easter come into contention following Argyle's back-to-back 1-0 defeats at Norwich and Swansea.

Manager Paul Sturrock will be forced to do without central defender Mat Doumbe and striker Emile Mpenza, who are both ruled out with hamstring injuries.

Burnley manager Owen Coyle is hoping leading scorer Martin Paterson will be passed fit.

The 17-goal striker felt his hamstring during Tuesday's 1-1 draw at Ipswich and was substituted in the second half.

Fellow forward Steve Thompson will definitely be missing after he was carried off on a stretcher during last weekend's 5-0 win over

Nottingham Forest following a crunching challenge from Wes Morgan.

Thompson sustained ankle ligament damage and, after missing the midweek draw at Ipswich in midweek, he will again be absent at Home Park.

Chris Eagles took Thompson's place in the starting line-up at Portman Road and will again hope to start against the Pilgrims.

Coyle will also assess a number of other minor concerns as his side seek to extend their unbeaten run in the league to five matches.
