Barnsley v Plymouth match preview

Last updated : 20 December 2008 By Paul Stevens

The former West Brom and Derby defender has missed the last six matches with a groin injury, but returned to full training this week and is back in contention.

But Tykes manager Simon Davey will be without fellow centre-half Dennis Souza, who sustained a calf injury against Wolves last week and will be sidelined for at least two weeks.

Davey will also be without winger Martin Devaney again due to an ankle injury, while midfielder Hugo Colace will miss out through suspension after picking up his fifth booking last week.

Mounir El Haimour and Rob Kozluk could return to the starting line-up as Davey switches things around to accommodate for Colace's absence.

Plymouth are without suspended striker Rory Fallon.

The New Zealand international was booked for the fifth time this season in the 1-1 draw with QPR last weekend and must serve a one-match ban, meaning he misses out against the club where he started his career.

With Belgian striker Emile Mpenza (hamstring) also ruled out, Steve MacLean - who came off the bench to net the equaliser against the Hoops last weekend - is likely to start alongside top scorer Paul Gallagher in attack.

The squad is boosted by the return of fit-again right back David McNamee, although he will probably not make the starting line-up as Argyle look to get back to winning ways.

Paul Sturrock's men are five games without a win and have slipped to 13th in the table.
