Second-bottom Argyle are five points from safety with 15 matches remaining ahead of Saturday's trip to Sheffield United.

Argyle have come from behind in each of their last three games to secure draws against Leicester and Swansea and a victory against Barnsley.

And Mariner believes that speaks volumes for the team spirit in his side.

He said: "If you talk to most people in the know in football if you have got that sort of spirit then it really does bode well for the future.

"There are still a lot of games to play. The players are extremely buoyant, they have got a togetherness about them, battling, never-say-die qualities."
