Cut adrift Argyle pay the penalty

Argyle will be fuming for giving away a last minute penalty which Shane Long gleefully converted.

Prior to that Carl Fletcher looked to have rescued a point for the visitors when he cancelled out Long's opener. The stubborn resistence from Plymouth looked to have earned a point that would have kept Reading in touching distance but now there's an 8 point gap to the Royals in 22nd spot and 9 points to the safety of 21st place.

Argyle have a game in hand and travel to Barnsley this weekend. You will really fear the worst if nothing is gained from that game.
