Ipswich post match reaction

"I have had food for thought now about how to change this team to put a freshness in it before Tuesday," said Paul Sturrock.

"At the same time I want to remind all the players how we achieved what we achieved before today.

"Five wins, a draw and two defeats in eight games is not bad. I would take that for the next eight games but now it is probably time for a change.

"In hindsight the old adage about a bridge too far comes to mind but it is very easy after the event to surmise these kind of things but take nothing away from Ipswich, they were the better team and deserved their result.

"If Paul Gallagher's shot goes in it could have put a completely different complexion on it but it doesn't and they go down the other end and score a (second) goal.

"I did not think there were 10 bookings in a game like that but we will not in any form try to use the referee as any excuse because we were beaten by the better side on the day."

Jim Magilton was a happy man.

"I thought we started very well and continued from where we left off on Tuesday night. (Ipswich drew 1 - 1 at Forest)

"We gave a very professional performance on Tuesday night and I was very confident that we could come here and continue it - and we did.

"I thought we moved the ball very well at times and controlled possession.

"Again we shoot ourselves in the foot when we get a bit sloppy and for all our play we allowed Plymouth the best chance in the first half."
