He joins Hearts this week on trial but Aberdeen are tring to lure him to Pittodrie.
"It is up to us to convince him he would be better off here than at Hearts," said Aberdeen boss Mark McGhee. "Hearts are a difficult club to gazump as they are a big club. It is up to us to persuade him he would be better off here."
Argyle's Jim Paterson is also a target for McGhee.
