Paterson- Were still quality

The Pilgrims have been forced to sell top goalscorer Bradley Wright-Phillips, winger Craig Noone, centre-back Reda Johnson and striker George Donnelly, while defender Onismor Bhasera and striker Joe Mason have been struck by injury - leaving boss Peter Reid with only six substitutes against Charlton recently.

Paterson told the Herald: "We have got a small squad now, but I would say it's a quality one. We just need to try to keep everybody fit to give ourselves options.

"We can't affect anything off the pitch. We can only affect things on the pitch.

"Sometimes these sort of situations bring the players and everybody at the club closer together. Even if we weren't in this situation, I think clubs would have come calling for the likes of Craig, Reda and Bradley.

"We are the players who are left and we have just got to get on with it, be positive, and go about winning football games."
