Pilgrims v Cov. Early team news

Last updated : 11 April 2009 By Paul Stevens

The Pilgrims claimed a vital 1-0 win at relegation rivals Blackpool last weekend but it came at a cost with on-loan Manchester United centre-back Craig Cathcart suffering a knee injury.

Cathcart was forced off just before the hour-mark at Bloomfield Road and is a major doubt for the clash against the Sky Blues, with Chris Barker - his replacement from the bench last weekend - on standby to start in his place.

Sturrock seems set to keep faith with the remaining 10 Pilgrims who started against the Tangerines and earned Argyle's first win in four matches, meaning 19-year-old Ashley Barnes will again partner Jamie Mackie in attack.

Coventry will be without full-back Stephen Wright and on-loan winger Jordan Henderson when they travel to Plymouth.

Wright will miss the remainder of the season with an ankle problem and Henderson has returned to Sunderland with a metatarsal injury.

Striker Leon Best came on as a substitute against a Crystal Palace in midweek despite a groin tear and could be patched up again.

Midfielder David Bell was expected to undergo an ankle operation this week which would have brought an end to his season, but the surgery has been postponed due to the injury crisis at the club.

Striker Leon McKenzie is still sidelined with an Achilles injury.
