Plymouth Argyle's administrator has told BBC Radio Devon that the club is close to being sold, after agreeing terms with the preferred bidder.Brendan Guilfoyle said he will continue to deal with representatives for the Gibraltar-based Irish consortium.

"We had a meeting yesterday and the terms of the sale have been agreed," said Guilfoyle.

"We're hopefully moving rapidly from the exclusivity agreement into a contract to purchase the club."

He added: "The terms are agreed and the lawyers will be working on the contract."

Tuesday (21 June) was the deadline for the next exclusivity payment from the group, which Guilfoyle confirmed was met.

He did state, however, that the payment was not ?200,000, as widely thought, but confirmed it was a six-figure sum.

Guilfoyle also confirmed that no previous members of the board, including Sir Roy Gardener, are involved.

"We've asked repeatedly if previous interests are involved, and we've been assured not," he said.

Plymouth went into administration in March

of this year and were hit with a 10-point deduction before being

relegated to League Two.
