Notts County's Ricky Ravenhill could return after recovering from whiplash following a collision with team-mate Neal Bishop a fortnight ago.
But defender Liam Chilvers (knee) will definitely miss out.
Bad weather has forced successive postponements for both sides, but Argyle are very confident that the match will go ahead.
An Argyle spokesman said: "The Home Park pitch has been covered more or less continuously ever since we played our last home game against Exeter on 11 December.
"The forecast is more than favourable, with temperatures unlikely to fall below five or six degrees, even at night time.
"So there is nothing to suggest the game against Notts County is in any doubt whatsoever."
