Hungarian central defender Krisztian Timar - who scored the Greens' goal in a 1-1 opening-day draw at Crystal Palace - was ruled out of the 2-1 Carling Cup defeat at Gillingham by an ankle injury.

Central midfielder Carl Fletcher (thigh) was also missing after featuring heavily against former club Palace.

Argyle are boosted by the return of Benin central defender Reda Johnson from international duty and the return to fitness of

Icelandic international midfielder Kari Arnason, who has sat out the opening two games.

Defensive midfielder Karl Duguid and on-loan Blackburn winger Alan Judge were called up for their first starts of the season at

Gillingham, with Gary Sawyer slotting in at centre-half alongside Jim Paterson.

Celtic's 20-year-old striker Cillian Sheridan has also joined on loan subject to international clearance and could play some part at Home Park on Saturday.

Adel Taarabt and Heidar Helguson return to the QPR squad for the trip.

On-loan Tottenham midfielder Taarabt was on international duty with Morocco, and striker Helguson away with Iceland, as Rangers beat

Exeter 5-0 in the Carling Cup on Tuesday night.

Argentinian midfielder Alejandro Faurlin, Rangers' £3.5million summer recruit, is back in full training following a thigh injury but is likely to wait until Tuesday's trip to Bristol City for his debut.

Rookie striker Angelo Balanta is fit after a knock sidelined him in midweek and Akos Buzsaky has fully recovered from a thigh problem, so midfielders Lee Cook and Martin Rowlands are the only definite absentees.

Cook is still recovering from a summer clean-up operation on his knee and Rowlands suffered an ankle injury during the opening-day draw with Blackpool and will be out for a couple more weeks.
