Sheffield Wednesday could include on-loan striker Neil Mellor after he recovered from tonsillitis.
Midfielder pair Tommy Miller and James O'Connor are pushing for recalls after substitute appearances during the 1-0 defeat to Carlisle last weekend.
Plymouth Argyle manager Peter Reid told BBC Spotlight:
We need to be more confident - Reid
"There is a bit of anxiety and a lack of confidence but as a team and as a group and a football club we've got to overcome that.
"We're desperate to give the fans something to cheer about and the only way to do it is to try and win football matches here.
"I back the lads to come through it, as a club we'll come through it - but we need to be doing it sooner rather than later."
