Teenager set for Home Park start

Ben Purrington looks set for his first senior Home Park start in Plymouth's Devon derby with Torquay.

The 17-year-old left-back has been one of the Pilgrims' star performers in his first two starts for the club, away at Oxford and AFC Wimbledon, and is expected to line up against the Gulls.

Caolan Lavery will be involved in the final match of his loan spell from Sheffield Wednesday and could start again for John Sheridan's men.

Should Sheridan decide to freshen up his pack then the likes of Nathan Thomas, Durrell Berry and Romuald Boco are likely to come into contention.

Torquay look set to be without striker John Marquis against their local rivals.

The Millwall loanee has a cyst in his groin which he has been struggling with since the Boxing Day draw with Bristol Rovers and he has returned to his parent club for treatment and is unlikely to be available.

But there is better news for boss Alan Knill who expects his other on-loan striker Jayden Stockley to return from Bournemouth ahead of the clash after treatment on a back problem.

Full-backs Dale Tonge (illness) and Tom Cruise (knee) played in the 3-1 loss to Exeter despite fitness issues and are are set to retain their places.
