The 27-year-old former Sheffield United and Newcastle United defender has been without a club since being released by the Magpies at the end of last season following a loan spell with West Ham United.

The Truro-born player is expected to play for
Albion’s reserve side against Yeovil Town on Tuesday.

"He will be coming in training for a couple of days and playing on Tuesday,” Williamson confirmed to the Evening Herald.

"I just feel we are short on the left side. We have only got Peter Gilbert and Tony Capaldi and we could do with more competition there.

"We will see how he does over the next couple of days and then take it from there.”

Quinn moved to St James’ Park from Sheffield United for £800,000 in February 2001 but he made only 15 Premiership appearances for the Magpies.

He spent part of the 2002-03 campaign back on loan with the Blades and played 22 matches for West Ham last season.
