Swindon unhappy at Argyle youth

Plymouth Argyle sent a youth team to the County Ground last night to face a Swindon first team who were expecting a stronger visiting line up.

Swindon manager Maurice Malpas was most displeased by Argyle's team-sheet.

After the game, he complained: "It was advertised as a first-team game, they were meant to bring their first team, and they never done it. It was disappointing, because the fans paid good money.

"We'd never have taken a game against a youth team on our pitch."

Malpas added. "A lot of effort went into the game tonight to prepare for it, and it was too late in the day for us to really change anything. There'll be a few words privately said between myself and Luggy (Argyle boss Paul Sturrock)."
