Yeovil get back to winning ways against promotion-chasing Plymouth

Yeovil won their first Sky Bet League Two match in nine with a 2-1 victory over promotion-chasing Plymouth.

Two goals in three second-half minutes from Nathan Smith and Alex Lacey gave the hosts a 2-0 lead before Jakub Sokolik pulled one back.

After an even first 35 minutes, Plymouth started to look the better side and would have gone ahead from a corner on 38 minutes had it not been for some brave defending from Yeovil

On three occasions the home side threw bodies in the way of shots to keep it level at half-time.

The Glovers then seized the advantage with two quick-fire goals, the first coming in the 62nd minute as Smith bundled in a Ben Whitfield corner before Lacey made it 2-0 in the 64th minute, putting it in after substitute Jordan Slew horribly sliced a Matt Dolan free-kick towards his own goal.

After 77 minutes former Yeovil man Sokolik reduced the arrears with a deftly flicked header from a Jake Jervis free-kick to send it past Artur Krysiak.
