Brewers edge out Pilgrims
Gary Rowett's high-flying Burton Albion claimed their third consecutive 1-0 League Two win to end Plymouth Argyle's eight-match unbeaten streak.
Burton took a 12th-minute lead through striker Adam McGurk, who latched on to right-back Phil Edwards' long ball forward to fire past home keeper Luke McCormick from just inside the box.
John Sheridan's Plymouth forced the pace following that goal, with central defender Neal Trotman's 20th-minute downward header cleared off the line by Robbie Weir and top-scorer Reuben Reid's close-range volley was then blocked on its way to goal as Argyle upped the ante.
Reid volleyed just over at the far post after Andres Gurrieri helped on substitute Caolan Lavery's left-wing cross and in the final minute of the first half Reid headed just wide from Gurrieri's near-post cross from the right.
McCormick saved well from McGurk at the start of the second half, while Trotman sent another header just wide from another corner as Plymouth pressed for a leveller.
